So here’s something new. After I saw The Thing and started writing my shorties for it, I suddenly thought to myself: “Wouldn’t it be fun to animate this review?”. So I did, and here’s the result. It took quite some time to make since there’s some storyboarding involved and quite a lot of frames (about 230). Every frame was composited by the use of a wonderful little program called Paint.net and I put the images together in Windows Moviemaker. All of the transitions, movements and such were done by hand, rather than by the transitions Windows Moviemaker offers. The result is not particularly great, nor is it how I intended it to end up being, but I had fun making it. The gif lasts for 67 seconds, so if you watch it, not a lot of your time will be wasted :).
And that’s the gif. That was my short little review for The Thing. If you have any feedback, please let me know, you can be as harsh as you want. Did you like it, how come? If you didn’t, why so? Do you think this would work better as a video than a gif? And do you want to see more of these in the future? If so, don’t expect them often, since it did take a lot of time to make and as I’m going to Uni next week, I won’t have a lot of time on my hands.
Also, you might’ve noticed that in general, I’ve started to implement gifs into my posts. Do you feel like this adds something to my articles or do you not really notice them being there? These are a lot of questions, but I’m just looking for some feedback :).
